As a music composition student in college, I once had a professor tell me that all of the music I write sounds like end-credit music. This comment stuck with me for a long time, and I think about it practically any time I compose music. Eventually, this idea of perpetually composing end-credit music inspired me to compose a piece that is comprised of different endings with different themes. I decided to view my tendency to write grand finales as a strength rather than a weakness, thus this piece for wind ensemble, “Endings”, was born. The different themes conveyed in this piece are in order as such: “Superhero”, “Romance”, “Cartoons”, and “Symphony”. Each theme has its own self-explanatory character, which launches the audience into a musical journey filled with variety. I hope you enjoy this collection of grand finales I call “Endings”.
